I am Edgar, an Interaction and Service Designer working for the design consultancy FJORD on projects for start-ups and fortune 500 companies. Made in Venezuela, raised in Miami, and graduated with honors from SCAD. Now living in the tech bubble of San Francisco enjoying the cold summers of northern California.

Technology plays a role in the day to day of human interactions, but how this happens is what I am passionate about. My background in Industrial Design and Service Design push me to think/create/design/youpick for holistic digital, physical, and service experiences. So in no more words, I just want to make sick experiences while easing people's lives.

If I am not saying the word "experience" again, you may find me in my 5-feet square room painting or creating digital illustrations which I enjoy making for fun - or for business! But to keep it real, I am mostly daydreaming about where to travel next or what kind of Arepa I should be making for dinner.

Should you have any questions about what an Arepa is, or interest in my work, shoot me an email at

Usually involves a lot of categorized color Post-Its.

During my years at SCAD I had the chance to learn from tangible processes from Industrial Design, Service Design, and Interaction Design courses. I learned and worked through different design thinking frameworks during internship and courses from IBM Design, IDEO, and Google. All of these frameworks influenced how I think and approach problems nowadays.

Today, my process and tools vary depending on the client needs and scope. I ramp up pretty quickly to new software, but these are my to-go digital tools:

+ Sketch
+ Principle
+ InVision &
+ Axure RP

+ Photoshop
+ Illustrator
+ After Effects
+ InDesign

Creative Director of Experience Design at SapientRazorfish
"I helped in interviewing Edgar for a position at SapientRazorfish and instantly was drawn by his energy, personality and the skill set that clearly came through in his portfolio. I was excited when he accepted the position but even more excited when I was fortunate enough to get to work with and mentor him. If there was ever a challenge or new tool that needed to be learned Edgar would be the first one to not only dive into it but become proficient in it. Even after parting ways from SapientRazorfish we have stayed close and I am excited to see him grow and hope that one day our professional paths will cross again. I know great things will come from this one!"

Jovian Chen

Program Manager at SapientRazorfish
"Edgar is an amazing UX designer, and he has been a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend him as he worked well in all capacities during our engagement with a luxury real estate client. He has a curious mind and thrives as a multitasker – balancing decks, annotations, and wires with quick turnaround time. Edgar is a great presenter and embraces taking the lead on designing experiences for mobile apps, websites, and creative concepting for new components.

His talent & hard work has led to success not only at Sapient but also on his personal projects as well, as shown by his design award nominations. A goal-oriented designer, Edgar is very communicative with the team and excels at meeting tight deadlines. I have seen him grow at Sapient, and he confidently tackles obstacles head-on and is always thirsty for new challenges. It is important to note that Edgar has a charismatic personality and a wonderful addition to company culture. I am fortunate to have worked with him..."
